A beautifully vibrant Shiraz with remarkable youthfulness for its age. The wine displays a dense ruby-garnet colour, while the nose reveals layers of peppery spice and ripe red fruit, followed by more complex notes of aniseed, blood orange, spiced wine, molasses, liquorice and subtle smoky meat.

The palate is rich and textured, with a concentrated core of fruit supported by savoury, earthy flavours. Crushed raspberries and cassis mingle with wood spice and dried herbs, including hints of tarragon and thyme, complemented by a delicate salty liquorice character. Fine, chalky tannins remain firm and youthful, providing structure and length.

A complex and beautifully layered Shiraz that continues to evolve in the glass, revealing greater depth and nuance with every moment.

The grapes were picked by hand at 24 °Balling from mid February until mid March. In the cellar the juice fermented on the skins in open tanks at about 27 °C for 5 to 7 days until dry. After malolactic fermentation the wine was matured in wood for 18 months – 22 percent in new French oak casks, 3 percent in American oak and 75 percent in third-fill French oak casks.
The Shiraz vineyards are situated at 140 to 370 metres above sea level and face southeast. The vines are trellised and were planted between 1967 and 1992.
