This typical Swartland Shiraz is all about spice and redberry fruit. Deep purple-red in colour, this Shiraz opens with inviting aromas of blackcurrant jam and ripe plum. The palate is medium-bodied, offering layers of juicy dark fruit supported by subtle oak undertones. Soft tannins and a lively freshness carry through to a smooth, fruit-driven finish. Approachable and generous, this is an easy-drinking Shiraz that showcases the warm Swartland character with elegance and charm.
100% Chenin Blanc
The 2025 vintage began with excellent post-harvest conditions and ample rainfall, allowing the vines to build strong reserves ahead of dormancy. A cold, wet winter provided ideal chilling hours, followed by a warm spell in August that encouraged even bud break. While strong winds during flowering reduced yields slightly, the dry, warm summer that followed resulted in small, concentrated berries of exceptional quality. Despite a lighter crop, the fruit showed beautiful natural acidity and purity.
Chenin produces intensely flavoured wines in our terroir. To that end we harvest the grapes early in the ripening window to ensure freshness and balance. Careful and gentle handling in the cellar further allow the full spectrum of varietal characteristics to come to the fore. The structure and depth that characterise Chenin from our region, allow even unoaked versions to age very well.
The personality of these hardy bush vines has been shaped by time and the elements. The dryland vineyards are located at a high altitude (322 m) and yield complex, concentrated fruit. Cover crops and mulches are employed to help the vines retain moisture in dry conditions and improve soil health.
